The annual gathering in Victoria is slated for May 15-19 in Victoria Harbor. It is a wonderful cruise, historically well- attended by OIYC. We, as a club, once again share with other yacht clubs in celebrating Queen Victoria’s birthday. The 34th Annual Opening Day Sail Past will be in the Victoria’s Inner Harbor on Sunday, May 18th, 2008. Our club will have planned activities that complement the City’s official schedule, many starting on Thursday May 15th. Picnics, dock par- ties, parades (both on the water and in town), dinners, and numerous musical venues will be detailed in the May OIYCTER. Our fleet will be berthing right at the Empress Docks in Victoria’s Inner Harbor.

Please email or call Lew Thomas for more details and to sign up for this cruise. Email: captainlew@mac.com or telephone 360-376-8236.

If you do not currently have a boat, but would like to join us for Victoria Days, call Lew Thomas. We will attempt to pair riders with cruisers. Typically, we have some members and friends who may ride to Victoria on the ferry or in one of our boats and then join us in the festivities on the docks. These folks stay in a local hotel or motel. Reservations should be made now, as the area books up early for Victoria Days. Again, please call or email Lew Thomas for more info on this.
